About Course
Use CFD on real process equipment, and check every result against a hand calculation.
For process and mechanical engineers, CFD beginners, and students who want practical simulation skills.
5 video lessons · Certificate · 7-day refund · 74.6K learners on YouTube
Learn CFD the way process engineers actually use it: on real equipment, with every number checked against a hand calculation.
We follow one case through the whole series: natural gas entering a separator through an 8″ inlet nozzle. Each lesson is a short animated video from the Design Hub India CFD Simulation Series, with a written summary and the key numbers from the calculation.
Released: Part 1 Setting up the case (Reynolds, Mach, y+ and first-cell height) · Part 2 Inflation layers and mesh independence (GCI) · Part 3 Choosing a turbulence model (k-epsilon vs SST vs mixing length) · Part 4 Separator inlet devices (inlet momentum, vane vs half-pipe vs diverter) · Part 5 Droplet separation (Souders-Brown vs droplet tracking, DPM).
Coming next: flare tip jet and radiation, high-velocity PSV tailpipe flow, and verifying CFD against hand calculations.
Questions
Do I need CFD software to follow?
No. The lessons show the setup and results step by step. If you have ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM you can repeat the cases, but it is not required.
How long is the course?
5 short video lessons, about 11 minutes today. Parts 6 to 8 and long worked-example lessons (10 to 20 minutes each) are being added through December.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. When you complete the course you get a Design Hub certificate of completion that you can add to your CV and LinkedIn.
What is free and what is paid?
Lessons 1 and 2 are free to watch. Lessons 3 to 5, the coming parts, the worked-example lessons and the certificate come with the course.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can ask for a refund within 7 days of purchase. See the refund policy.
